Anyone else ever have this happen to them?  it usually only happens when I've been posting for a long time, over an hour. But I wrote 2 posts tonight that "disappeared", one long one about the kids who love to read and a very short one about the snow storm.  This has happened numerous times in past 4 months. IS this a consequence for me chatting too much???

It hasn't ever happened to me, and I'm on here a lot, so I don't know what to tell you.

Are you sure the "Submit Reply" was hit? Once in a while I've typed in something only to realize I didn't actually 'post' it.

I use wireless internet sometimes and I've noticed that it doesn't take a post for me sometimes.  So if your internet connection is iffy that could be why.

Could be that you were typing or otherwise idle for long enough to get logged out. Then when you hit the submit button, you get logged back in and possibly your post gets lost somewhere in that process.

Wait for the bar at the bottom of the screen to complete before navigating away from the page.  Sometimes I have double posted because I didn't watch the bar and clicked on submit reply again.  So I am wondering if you navigate way before the screen refreshes fully.

thx, all your ideas are possible-- we live in a rural area with iffy wireless and I was posting during the blizzard last night with lightning going on and the power flickering.

it's likely that I was moving onto another page before it had updated or thought I hit the "submit" button and didn't actually do it--I was posting/reading for 3 hours last night!

Power is flickering on and off again in northern Illinois so I'm going to log off now!

I don't know if this could be it or not, but I found a post that I thought hadn't gone thru by using the search feature. it turns out that I hadn't noticed there was more than 1 page or maybe that my post was the first post on a new page so I thought my post just didn't post but it actually went to another page. Took me forever to figure it out which was weird because I knew that threads could have multiple pages.
