This is the only version of Dante's Divine Comedy that I've read, but I enjoyed it. This translation tried to keep some of the poetry in the original text. The part I appreciate most about this version, though is the fact that it had notations that included criminals Dante mentions as well as cultural and historical notes about the time. With further explanations, I was better able to fully grasp what Alighieri was presenting.
