Although this book has some wonderful information in it and I did enjoy reading it, it reads more like an academic essay than a learning non-fiction book. Not for those looking for a quick, light, easy read. Definitely worth the read if you can fight through the "thesis".
This book is also eerily similar to the book Inside a Dog, by Alexandra Horowitz, as both books site the same studies, and talk about theories and ideas practically in the same order. My research shows that Inside a Dog was written in 2009, while Dog Sense was written in 2011. They are very similar, although if you can only read one book, I would read Inside a Dog instead, as it has the same info, but is a much easier read.
