This book is a sequel to The Somnambulist.

While The Somnambulist is set in Victorian London, the Domino Men takes place in modern London.

Even though the timeline jumps considerably, there are actually several characters that carry over between both books. Like The Somnambulist, there are elements of The Domino Men that simply don't make sense, that require a bit of suspended belief, that you simply never saw coming.

This book is also as equally hard to classify as The Somnambulist. It is still a muddle of fantasy, Gothic, horror, mystery, satire, and black comedy. It is its own animal and because of that it is not a book for the masses. You will either get it or you won't, you will either love it or you really won't.

You must read The Somnambulist before you venture into The Domino Men. If you liked the first you should also enjoy the second. I enjoyed both for different reasons, and I'm holding out hope that there might even be a third...
