These are considered collectibles :) and they come up as the glossy covers, but they are actually the Matte editions!

I didn't know the matte ones were special. I also have the Clue of the Velvet Mask in matte posted. Are they collectible because they are older?

Yeah, a lot of folks like to get the matte books b/c they are alittle older and I know there are collectors who try and complete older sets... for me, I have a near complete hardy boys set, just missing three books... sets can sell for good money :-)
