I'm not into sports. At all. But Dragon Road was quite a good book, and about much more than just basketball.
Calvin "Flash" Chin lives in Chinatown near the end of the Great Depression. Long story short, he joins an entirely Chinese-American team of basketball players on a tour around the country. As he improves and learns to work with a team, they begin to win again and again, with only infrequent losses. But when winter arrives, things start to fall apart, and Flash may be the only person who can hold the team together...
Very good, very interesting book. Recommended!
