Doors stuck in the middle of beach permit travel from post-apocalyptic world (first introduced in book one) through time-space and into the mind of someone from pre-apocalyptic America. In this one sense it reminds me of movie "Being John Malkovitch."

The gathering together of those who will seek the Dark Tower continues. If you enjoyed book one you will like this clever addition.
