Dr. Ann Faraday was one of the pioneers in dream research during the early 1970's. It is not a cookie cutter book - there's no recipe from some book where you look up a dream symbol to decipher your dream. This book is geared to the layperson. What Dr. Faraday offers comes a lot from her own research and her analysis of her own dreams as well as others. Dreams can definitely lead to self-awareness. By understanding your own particular symbols you can obtain clues to your personal problems and even resolve inner conflicts. By leaving out scientific jargon, Dr. Faraday has written "Dream Power in a style that makes it easy to understand the psychological concepts she presents. I highly recommend this book for those just beginning on the path of self-Awarness as well as for those who are at a more intermediate level. This book is useful even if you just want to know more about the subconscious through the study of dreams. Geared towards teaching you how to decipher your own symbols, Dr. Faraday's book is one of the better books out there.
