This story made me tear up a few times. it was sweet and loving and I couldnt put it down. It is about an actress named Clara McCallum who finds out she has breast cancer. While working on her latest movie, that is based on a true story about an American Soldier. While on the set she boards a train. However, when she gets off the train she is no longer on a movie set, but in the actual town in the 1940. I would reccommend this book to everyone.

I entered Time Travel as a criteria in a book search and found If Only In My Dreams. I had never read anything by Wendy Markham - but I took a chance. I have to say that I REALLy enjoyed this book. It was sweet & heartwarming... Its a quick, easy read and has a December/Christmas theme which I love reading at this time of year.

Actress Clara McCallum isn't looking forward to spending Christmas alone in New York City, especially since she's still reeling after a diagnosis of brest cancer. But she has to be on location in the city for her next big movie. She's playing a woman in love with Jed Landry, an American soldier doomed to die at Normandy...
Imagine Clara's astonishment when she steps off an old fasioned locomotive from the set and finds herself whisked back in time- and into the arms of the real-life Jed. She's convinced it's some sort of hallucination brought on by her diagnosis. But before long, she finds herself swept away by this handsome soldier and wondering if maybe her plunge into the past could change the course of the future-and turn out to be the best Christmas present ever...

I read this book after seeing it listed on Paperback Swap. I went to the library and ordered it. (I was in too much of a hurry to wait) I so very thoroughly enjoyed this book. I love time travel/romance and this was definately worth it. As movie critics say 'two thumbs up'!
