Do any of you experience this?

I joined in January and went a couple weeks before getting requests.  Then all of a sudden I was sending out a couple books a week for about a month.  Now it has been about a month again with no requests.  I realize that some or most of my books are not rare.  I have tried putting my shelf in the bazaar (spell check) and still nothing.  I have posted in numerous threads and so on.   I just wonder why I am having such a dry spell.  I need credits!

I would love to hear suggestions to help get my books moving!

It happens. I'll go weeks sometimes months with my only orders being whatever WL books I've posted and then I'll get 3 or 4 shelf orders in a week. Then nothing for a while.

Have you tried reviewing your posted books? Sometimes that helps because people see your name on the review and check your shelf out.

I see you've put a deal in your signature so I'm off to check out your shelf.

Thank you for the suggestions.  I have reviewed the ones that I have read.  I haven't read all of them because I found that the print was too small for my eyes to handle so some of them are like new.

Sheila ~ I seem to be having a dry spell too...for both books coming in and going out.  I miss walking to the mailbox and finding something waiting for me :(

Requests seem to come in waves for me - several in a week or so for non-WL and then none for awhile.

Mary's idea of reviewing books is a great one. Also, if you need something to read, you should consider joining box-o-books service. It is only $8 a year, but it might get some of your books out and get you some new ones to read.

Hanging out in the forums can help too: Like I just ordered a book from Susan because of her signature line.  I also like mysteries and one of her freebie unpostables looked good to me. So I found a book that looked good on her shelf and ordered. I've been on the other end many times where people have ordered a book I've mentioned right from me from seeing my post about it.

I'm new too, just checked out your shelf.  If I had more credits, there are several books I'd like to request.  Hang in there.  Is there any way of 'tagging' a bookshelf to go back to?

You can ask someone to be your Buddy.  That's really the only way other than writing their name down.

Great idea about adding someone as your buddy.  I have done that several times to keep track of those with similar reading interests.  Pam I did add you to my list.  I also checked out your shelf and you have a few I may want also.

Like the others said, book requests ebb and flow.  Since joining I typically send out about 2-3 books a month.  I had only one request in Dec., none in Jan., but 11 (yes eleven) in March.  I've received an unusally high number of my wish-listed books this month also.  It really varies.

Offer some sweet deals in the bazaar and make yourself noticed. I've gotten quiet here on the boards lately and my books requests have gone way down. But I probably have ho-hum books available now too. :) All the best ones are gone.

As everyone else said, it really goes in streaks. I've usually got at least a couple requests off my standing shelf per week, plus I read quite a few books that are wishlisted too, so those go right away when I post them.  Edited to add: I took a quick look at your shelf and it would seem that most of your books already have a ton of copies in the system, so unless you were to offer a deal or something, they aren't likely to come up in FIFO real soon.

If you have books in your TBR that are currently wishlisted, those are the ones I would try to read first and post them. Otherwise, aside from the tips others have offered, there's not much else to be done but be patient. Or, you can seek out thrift shops and friends of the library sales to find books that would be more likely to get chosen quickly here. And of course if needs be, you can always buy a few credits--check in the book bazaar as there are often people selling them there for less than the kiosk price.

I think I am going to offer a really great deal on the the bazaar.  What could it hurt.  My books aren't moving now.

Thanks for all of the advice.

Adding new books to my shelf often seems to revive it, even though the books ordered aren't always the ones I just posted.

Update:  I ran my Bookshelf in the bazaar 3 for 1 for two days and got and earned 3 maybe 4 credits.   May not sound like a lot but I am HAPPY!

Thanks again for all of the advice.

I am going to have to look into finding more books to add soon.

That's great Sheila!  I also want to thank Mary for looking at my shelf and taking one of my "unpostables" off my hands :)

Right now I'm more discouraged because all my Wish List books don't seem to be making any progress.  I've had some requests on there forever....

P.S.  I LOVE TOBY KEITH

I've been going through a dry spell, too.  I've posted a 2 for 1 mystery sale so hopefully that should get things moving.  I was pelted with requests when I first joined, but it's been very, very slow that last week or two.

My WL books seem to be stalled, too.   Boo.

My WL has been very active lately after not getting any wishes for a long time.  My bookshelf has been in a dry spell for the past few weeks, until I got two orders today!  It seems to ebb and flow...
