New author appears to be starting a new series based in Sarasota FL revolving around a female ex-cop widowed petsitter. A cozy whodunit with cute furry pets and descriptions of south FL to warm a snowbirds heart.

This was a fun and easy read in which the heroine is a pet sitter living in Florida.

Second in a series (first is Curiosity Killed the Cat Sitter). Nice mystery - not chick lit, despite the cutesy title and cover. My husband is reading the series as well, likes the fact that they are quick reads. They flow well.

Blaize Clement writes about my home town. I grew up on the keys off Sarasota. For anyone who enjoys books that move right along yet keeps your interest will enjoy this series. I think that to get the full benefit of the main characters you would want to start with the first book in the series, Curiosity Kills the Cat Stitter.

As the series moves along, so do the main characters mature. You keep getting teasers about what motivates, what fears they have and heart warming insite into the pets that Dixie Hemingway (no relation) cares for. One of my favorites is Billy Elliot, a rescued greyhound.

I would certainly reccomend these stories.

I really enjoyed this Dixie Hemingway book, #2. She cares for an elderly dacshund whose owners leave for an extended vacation. They discover a dead body and the mystery begins.

Although I enjoyed solving the mystery, I really really wished the author had not used the images of violence against animals. I enjoy reading mysteries with animals in them - so this was very disturbing to me.
