Serena Marston is a golden rose, a tranquil blonde English lady with sea blue eyes marooned in the steamy city of St. Augustine in 1783. She has been hurt before, married to a drunken lord who squandered all her money and left her in this remote colonial outpost. But now the Spanish have taken control. And now the dark eyed Spanish Eagle, Rafael, has seen Serena, and nothing will ever be the same again.
This is one of the most original, elegant, and yet truly steamy historical love stories I have ever read. Serena is the most ladylike and caring heroine you could ever imagine, and she has the most fabulous wardrobe and everything about her life is just so dreamy and romantic. And Rafael!!! He is so hot you need to fan yourself just reading about him. Don't miss this book!
