SO, too, 1 have gone into detail somewhat more in the first two periods than in the last, be cause these periods have not been so thoroughly investigated as the last period has. It may be objected by some, that I have not adequately considered the concert Iilc ol the last period. To these I wouId say that this period has been fully covered by 0. G. Sonneck in his Early Concert Life in such a manner that I, at least, could not improve upon it.
