About 3 examples per letter, "gooseberry, grapefruit, grapes" in UPPERCASE and lowercase, for some reason, along with paintings of the fruit or vegetable. No verbs, adjectives, adverbs, etc. This is probably a good book for the 5 year old. A glossary in the back gives more of an explanation of the fruit/vegetable.
