A creepy, page turning adventure for a police sergeant who has to figure out what is going on in Edinburgh. Adam Quire is back in Scotland after fighting in the Napoleonic Wars. He's a physically imposing fellow in an on again off again relationship with a prostitute. His job has him moving between high society and tenements dealing with medical professors and body snatchers.
