I received a box of older books from my late brother's home.  Many of these are on people's wish lists, but with a later ISBN -- mine are in good condition, just earlier publications -- 1960's, 1970's.

I feel bad that there's someone out there who wants to read these book, but doesn't know they're  available because they put it on their wish list and the latest ISBN's are included in the listing.

So, please, if you're looking for a book by an older and/or dead writer,  don't depend solely on the wish list feature, but do a search from time to time.

Lorraine, you can tag the WL version with the ISBN of your version! See the Making Tags Useful, Mission #10 thread.

Also, you can post the books and then write them up in the Book Bazaar thread, Wishlisted books under different ISBN's.

Thank you.  Jane.  I've been a member here for a long time, but never knew about tags.  I went back and tagged 3 books with the ISBN on my copy.  I'll see what happens from here.

Lorraine - I would recommend putting a post in the Book Bazaar to advertise that you have Rex Stout and John McDonald on your shelf, those ones just fly off of my shelf when I post any.

Also, realize that some people may want to wait for a newer copy.  I sometimes pass over WL books with alternate ISBNs that are considerably older because I fear they may not be in great condition.  It may or may not be a legitimate concern but depending on the book, I'd rather be safe than sorry.

I've found a few WL books in the system as other versions and I've tagged both of them. I'll tag the WL one as "# posted under ISBN#" and the posted book as "#WL under ISBN".  I don't know if it's helped anyone get orders or not but I hope it has.  I'll have to try and remember the titles of the ones I did and go back and check.

ETA: Well I just checked on one I new I did this tag thing with: Animal Instincts by Gena Showalter.  It's available in the system and there are still 21 people on WL for another version.  I guess they really want that version. I think one is tradesize and one is mmp.  So I left my tag with the ISBN of the one that's posted.
