This book is about life Greenwich Village at the turn of the century, among starving artists and poets. It tells of Edna St. Vincent Millay's love of her life there with the advantages of cheap restaurants and free entertainment. One of the best bargains was the Staten Island ferry ride. THis is a story of how such a ferry ride caused later wrote "Recuerdo," The illustrations are beautiful and the book is a good introduction to younger children about Ms. Millay.
