I had that happen to me, Mark, and I finally thought to look in the help docs:

I am getting the message "electronic postage cannot be used for this address".  What does this mean?

  • This message "electronic postage is currently not available for this address" is an error message from endicia.com, our online postage provider, and often it just goes away if the sender tries again to print after a few minutes.
  • If the address is not validated by USPS,  you will also see the above message.  In the case of an invalid address, the requestor can go to this site  to try to find the "validated" form of his or her address.  Printed postage can't be used to send a package to an address that has not been validated by USPS.

In my case, I kept trying to print it, and a day or two later it worked.  Usually it should fix itself much faster.

you could have just gotten $0.06 worth of stamps because as long as there is some sort of trackable postage the rest doesn't matter.

and FYI if you hadn't finished your transaction (said you were done) at the APC when you noticed you were $0.06 short you could have continued with the transaction and printed another stamp for just the $0.06.  as long as the first stamp is $1 or more, you can do any other denomination of postage that you need

My P O has a regular stamp machine stocked with .41's and .01's next to the APC itself.
