for those who love history and chemistry, this is a classic

written by antoine lavoisier himself... and translated from the french

lavoisier was a relatively well-off individual who lived during the time of the french revolution; he worked as a tax-collector, an occupation that ultimately led to his demise by the mobs...

he was instrumental in the discovery of the element oxygen, and is a very important historical scientific figure; also famous for working with his wife, who assisted in his experiments and in writing
