The Elfquest series isn't bad, but it isn't the greatest I've read either. I have read a later volume, so it was nice to see how it started (mostly...I think the story from the later volume actually starts in the second volume, with Bearclaw's son).

This is a good description of what happens when each side vows revenge, and continues on that path--insisting that the other be the first to stop, the first to give in, and not seeing why the other side seeks revenge.

The artwork is fun, but the characters never develop enough in this volume for me. It's a nice bit of fluff, but not particularly deep. Probably because it is an introduction to a longer series, so it has to cover a lot of ground to start with.
