I hope they add to the list.  I really liked the sale last year but unless they add more books I don't know if I will buy anything.

I made an order of some of my WL books- but for what they charged me in shipping it didn't seem like much of a savings.  I did add a couple full priced books that are rarely posted and have been on my WL for awhile. I probably could have gotten them cheaper on Amazon-but EC also had that free book thing with a $50 order. And last time they gave me a free book as well.

Yeah the shipping costs bugged me too. I ordered a few books too, some I was waiting on, and a few for swapping, but unless they add a bunch of titles I really want, or re-introduce the free shipping I don't know If I'll order any more. Honestly, I'd rather have the free shipping (even if we have to spend $50 rather then $35 ) then the free book.

Yeah I would too most times.  But one of the books I wanted wasn't available on Amazon.  So I went ahead and ordered.  Plus 2 of my WL books were in the sale sections for only $4.

Well.. they've added more (almost 9 pages now) but these are $5.50. I think I'll wait a while longer before I order:)

I didn't see anything I have to have yet.  Hopefully they add more.

I'm not going to look again. I still haven't read half the books I bought from the last sale.  Plus if you wait too long then everything is mostly Out of Stock.

Yep, I don't know whether to be happy they're having another big sale or horrified!  Last year I ordered an embarassing number of books, but the prices were so great that I just couldn't resist.   The good news is that this year, the site seems to be working pretty well <knock on wood>, at least so far.   Last year it was insane.  The only way I could get an order through was to be logged in using two windows at the same time.   It didn't work every time, but trying to get through on just one was madness.

One thing I've noticed this time is that either a ton of people are ordering, or else they must only have a limited number of the more popular author's books available at the sale prices.  Books that weren't even listed last night at 11pm Pacific time were out of stock when I got up this morning.  It just seems like books are becoming "Temporarily out of stock" a lot quicker than before.  My suggestion is that if you see something you really want from a popular author, grab it quickly!  By the way, I don't regret for one second ordering all those books.  It was worth it!

I only ordered 10 or so books last year and I've read every one of them.  Just glad the site is working better this year.

I finally placed an order.  They are slowly adding more.  There were 12 pages of sale books yesterday and 15 today.

I bought 6 books which was $40 including the shipping.  4 were on my WL.  2 of them I could have bought cheaper used but one only for a penny cheaper and the other for 75 cents less.  Factor in shipping on the 2 used books separately and it was a better deal to order them new.

Most of the ones I bought were for significantly less than used prices so, if they're not keepers, I can resell them for more than I paid for them.

I got my order today.  I'm a little disappointed that the Naughty Nooner book has no ISBN and a Not For Resale on the back.

I was looking at erotic books on Ebay today and they didn't seem to be selling for all that much.  There several expiring soon and the bidding wasn't high on them at all.  I didn't do an Ellorascave search though so maybe those go for a bit more.

OK I just did a search for EC and there's a whole bunch of them expiring in a couple of hours and no bids and the bidding starts at like .99.  I'm just wondering if it's worth it trying to sell them there.  There's an 11 book EC bundle with one bid a $9.99 but they are only giving a priority shipping option of $15.  now $25 for 11 EC books is a good deal for a buyer.

It seems like it might be better to just read several at once and then offer htem in the WL thread to save on shipping.

Hmm well now on the next page there's another set of 10 where the bidding is up to $31 with shipping just under $4.  But then there's a 5 book set where the bidding is only up to $1.99.

Mary it could depend on a lot of factors, like which authors are in the lot, what key search words are in the title, etc.

MY EC order came today too, I was pleased they didn't screw it up. I only ordered 4 books and I put a note in my order that I didn't want any substitutions! (That happened to me last year during their sale--though I ordered a lot more than 4. I'm sure I would have this year, too, if they still had free shipping for a minimum purchase).

Mary, if you have some to sell, you could list them on ebay, (set the price YOU want, don't take a chance on auction) if they don't sell in a week, list them on half.com. There's no fee until it sells, and you can leave it listed there for years if you want.

I'm worried about one of my orders.  I placed an order on the 4th which hasn't shipped yet, but a smaller order I placed on the 6th arrived today.  I hope there's not a problem, and I didn't know that they sometimes substitute books.  I really wouldn't be happy about that because I'm kinda picky about which books that I get from there.

The way they listed the books for the sale also bugged me because after I placed my first order, they added more books that I wanted, so I placed a second order.  Then a day or two after that they had another couple of books that I've had my eye on.  I didn't place a third order.  I wish that they would list everything at once the next time they do this so it would be a little more fair.

Angie,

Ellora's Cave is not the quickest in getting your order out so I wouldn't worry about it yet.  I totally agree with you on the books for sale listings.  I put in an order for a few books.  When I went back to the site two days later they had a lot more books for sale.  I ended up with two orders instead of one.  I don't think I will be visiting to see if they have put more books up for sale.

Well, I finally visited the sale and found 5 WL books and 1 RL book and then one pirate book that I couldn't resist.  Oh well, that'll clear up several spots on my usually full WL.  I'm not going to do what I did last year, which was buy everything that looked good no matter what.  Nope this year I'm sticking to books I actually wanted before I visited the sale (except the pirate book which is my one exception.)  I probably won't go back either.

Yeah me too, Crystal, but last year they had TONS for $3.00. Big difference! I will gladly load up on $3 books. But not on $5.50 books. I bought 4 of them, and I am not going back to look again. Plus last year, the free shipping also made a big difference to me. If they do a sale like THAT again, look out.

Yeah, I forgot about the prices, Anne, and the free shipping part probably had me ordering more than I needed last year.

Last year I resisted for a bit before I looked and practically everything was sold out.  This year I went earlier and they didn't have a huge selection. But they happened to have 3 of my WL and 2 of my RL books on their.  I ended up adding 2 full priced ones because I was already paying shipping and they were 2 that had been on my WL for like 2yrs now.

I will most likely end up just posting them all here. It's easy-no worry about listing wording and people trying to scam me and collecting funds and such.  I will probably just not post any until I have several books read at once and can find someone to mail multiples too.  That and use them for games.

Well, I got my order in today, but one of the books they sent was the wrong one, and the one that was missing was the book that I wanted the most.  Are they good about replacing books or should I just forget about getting it?  I won't read the one that came in place of it because it's not in a genre that I enjoy.  I did look and they still have my original book in stock at the sale price, so it wasn't sold out.  The titles were similar so they just picked up the wrong one by mistake.  I contacted them and hope to hear back soon, but I just wondered if anyone knew if I might be able to expect a replacement book or not.
