Thought this was interesting...it's a website that asks experts in different subjects and genres to recommend 5 books on their expertise.  If you had to turn someone on to romance novels using only 5 books what would you choose?

I've read 3 out of these 5 and I think her choices were very good.  I think I'd have chosen To Love a Thief by Julie Anne Long and something by Connie Brockway or Karen Ranney also.

I have read all five of her choices and agree with everyting she says.  I do like that as an author she doesn't write contemporary because she doesn't feel she does it well.  Seems that I have read some authors that should pick an era and stick with it.

I have read them all except for the JR Ward and I agree with Eloisa's statements.

I've read 4 outta the 5(all except the Ward) and ita with everything James' says.  Which is interesting because I've had "issues" getting thru several of Eloisa's latest releases.  Maybe it's time to pull them out of the tbr pile where they've become buried.

It Had to be You is simply brillant.  It's my to-be-buried-with book.

Those are good choices.  Dark Lover by JR ward is on my list to read for my Vampire catagory in the paranormal reading challenge and it comes very highly recomended from the other paranormal experts.

But I still have to throw in my favorite all time romance - Something Wonderful by Judth McNaught.  I don't think I would even have read as much as I have if it weren't for McNaught.  And...her new book comes out this year (hopefully).

Too funny Jan C, and I can't say that I blame you, because that is a heck of a great book. I have my old ragged copy that I whip out at least once a year to do a reread on.

Josie--what new book? Is it historical? I quit reading her when she went to contemporaries.
