Is there an email address to suggest improvements, i.e., to report typos? I know this item is small potatoes, but when I mark a book mailed, the My Account page shows a message that says, "Thanks for telling us that this book has been mailed. We appreciate you sharing your books with other members." It should read, "We appreciate YOUR sharing your books...." I am sure that it is a typo because the current sense it gives, while not absolutely incorrect, is kind of weird and condescending, as in, "Look at you, sharing your books...." Anyway, I thought that such glitches could be corrected pretty easily, but I could not find an email address at which to report them. ETA: Even if the current construction is correct, it should have a comma between you and sharing. Last Edited on: 10/11/08 8:51 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

At the bottom of every page is Contact Us. |

Oh, thanks so much, and there is even a category for Website Typo! I was looking all through the help docs and could not find it. |

personally I like the way it sounds!!! |

I don't remember if there is a specific option under "contact us" for typos but just send them a quick email and it will work. I've sent emails about inaccurate info and things have been changed... so it should work. |

It reads correctly. The way you stated doesn't sound right. |

Don't e-mail (or phone) them. Use the "feedback" option, which it sounds like you are doing. |

"the current sense it gives, while not absolutely incorrect, is kind of weird and condescending" Frankly, I find your post kind of weird and condescending. If you agree that the sentence structure is not absolutely incorrect how can you consider it a "glitch"? If you have the urge to police this site your efforts would be better served by cleaning up the tags and reviews, IMHO. |

Hey, I know that not everyone is a grammar nerd. :) The way the sentence is written is the way many people would speak it, but written English is usually held to a somewhat stricter standard and, from context, I think that what was intended was not what was being conveyed to those of us willing to parse a sentence exactly. (I could go into a long, technical explanation, but I'm sure that few people care, and those who care already know everything I would have to say.) To most everyone else, either way is not a noticeable change because a general meaning is all that's wanted. Anyway, I gave my feedback through the contact email, and now the PaperbackSwap copy editors can decide what they think. |

Ever hear the term NIT PICK? Hmmmm...... If I had a website (I don't) I think I would rather have someone send me a friendly note saying ,"Hey, I think this text is grammatically incorrect" than have a possible error go uncorrected. It is nitpicking, but then again, who wants to have nits . . . |

Viv, pay no attention to those that didn't like your correction. I'm sure that pbs appreciates your (notice, not you!) correcting their grammar. I do. |

According to my schooling you are right and it should be corrected. Thank you for seeing it, and for submitting it appropriately. Last Edited on: 1/24/09 11:11 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |
