Hi all. I got an email that said my request was accepted, but my account page says it's still waiting for the member. Why would this be? And if I'm permitted a second question about wish lists, I have two books on my shelf that are on wish lists. Do people only want the certain ISBN's they request or what? A gazillion people want "I Am Legend" but mine sits on my shelf, unwanted. Was it something I said (HA)? Same thing for Jean Auel's Plains of Passage. Thanks to any who reply. FluffyCat |

Hi Linda--I'm pretty sure the message about your request being accepted, just means it was accepted by the PBS system. The PBS system then sends a request out to the next person in the FIFO line that you want the book. About your wish list question...you've figured it out. Lots of times people only want hardcovers or a certain special edition, and they prefer to wait in line for these. Sometimes a very similar book can be published with a different ISBN for some reason (maybe it's a UK version for instance). Unfortunately, people may not be aware that a similar book is available with a different ISBN. |

I Am Legend ::
The Plains of Passage (Earth's Children, Bk 4) :: What this means is that there are 211 I Am Legend books and 277 The Plains of Passage books already in the system with your ISBN. All those books will be ordered before your books unless someone orders them directly off your bookshelf. There MAY be some wish listed but they are not the versions you have. |

Linda, Senders have 5 days to accept your request. A lot of us will wait the full five days in order to coincide with a pay day, they day we have off that we can actually go to the PO, etc. As Cozi said, most people want a specific version of a book which is why only that version is wishlisted. |

The email meant that PBS accepted your request into the system. There might be something special about the WL version that those people want or they would have ordered one of the copies available since there are so many. Some people need large print, some people collect certain covers, some people want hardcover etc..., Some people collect every version of some books and so those on WL are just the version they haven't gotten yet. |

If you check to see what editions PBS has by clicking on the author's name or putting the title into the search box...you can see if your edition is one on PBS"s record. Sometimes they aren't. When that happens you can tag the editions PBS does have with the ISBN that they don't have! Then others can find it. Lots of times people only look for one edition or ISBN. Ruth |
