I enjoyed this book. At times it was difficult to read because of the language translation from the Swedish. Once you get past that it was very imforative. The Emigrants follows three familys on their journey to America. This is book one of the triolgy. The first part of the book explains life in Sweeden in a small parish. The author takes great pains on explaining social order of the time. He also describes the family and how they come to their decision to immigrate. The second desribes life aborad the ship. You will learn what the day to day life was like. How had it was to be at sea. I recomand this book
