First book in a trilogy by the author of Anne of Green Gables. In typical L.M. Montgomery fashion, this book has a heroine who is orphaned when her father dies, after which she moves to New Moon farm to stay with family. The trilogy includes all of her adventures. Great for pre-teen or early teen female readers.

If you're a fan of L.M.Montgomery and enjoyed Anne of Green Gables, this is the book for you. An orphaned girl is sent to live with a fussy aunt and makes some new quirky friends and has some wonderful adventures. This is a young adult book, but I enjoyed it thoroghly.

First in the Series: In this sensitive, heart-warming story we meet Emily Starr for the very first time. Spirited, irrepressible Emily, left an orphan when her father dies, finds she is really not alone. An unexpected world of family and friends is waiting for her at New Moon Farm.

I love this book. It speaks of nature, human and otherwise so realistically that it leaves you wanting more. A tale of a young orphan taken in by cold relatives and blossoming with her own propulsion to write and live. Amazing. The characters are real, likeable and finely drawn. A joy to read this first installment of the trilogy. I cannot wait to read the other two.
