When given the opportunity to buy the local mercantile, Emily St. John snaps it up-- mostly because it will allow her to work side by side with the man she's loved since childhood. Surely, he'll pay attention to her now.
But Jeremiah Daniels can't believe it. He's scrimped and saved in order to buy the store he works in.. and he's waited to court Emily until he had it and could provide well for her.
Now, he figures, she can just keep the store and spend her spare time working for women's suffrage. He's going to open a shop of his own.
All is fair in love and war, it's said--but can this stubborn pair rise above their pride and see God's plan is for them to be together? (taken from back cover)

I thought this book was really great. I was able to read it in one day and throughly enjoyed it. The characters are great and it teaches you to follow your heart and not to be stubborn. To let others know how you feel and what you are thinking because if not, things will go crazy. Great book!
