The Structure
The "Encyclopedia is alphabetically organized and includes three major categories of survey: national entries, which trace the literary and cultural development of a country in terms of its geography, history, economy, and politics; majorsubject and genre entries, which provide a historic perspective on the trends and currents of literary activity in different countries; and biographical and critical entries on individual authors.
