I enjoyed the film more than the book.

This book was inspired by Graham Greene's life. As usual, he masterfully creates a story that exposes the heart of a person's relationship with God, through pain and rebellion. Bendrix carries on an adulterous love affair with Sarah, until she realizes she cannot sin any more and breaks it off. Bendrix is very bitter, until he runs into Sarah's husband again, and is pulled back into their lives. Slowly he comes to realize what has changed Sarah's life, and must decide what he will do with God.

OK. I thought I would love this. There were parts where I did. But I just could not get my head into it at all.

Greene expertly captures the emotions involved when one passionately loves someone, and hates and resents anyone or anything that stands in the way of being with the person that matters most in ones life. Ill be thinking of Bendrix, Sarah and Henry for a long time to come.
