the first book on climate change for the general public. Well-written by a former staff writer of the New Yorker, this was ahead of its time and still an alarming call to action not enough of us have heeded.

Originally written in 1988, i am impressed how much he has set the tone and philosophy of the climate debate for these past 25 years. he discusses gaia, what came to be called geohacking, and the problem of already affecting future climates with the co2already in the atmosphere.
