I enjoyed this book because I have visited the location. Otherwise, it isn't one of the author's best works.
A plane crashes on remote Cumberland Island off the east coast of Georgia killing the pilot and passenger. National park ranger,Anna Pigeon, becomes involved with investigating the cause of the accident which quickly moves from "accident" to sabotage and murder. But who was the intended victim? Pilot or passenger?
There are many unusual and colorful characters introduced at the beginning of the story along with their backgrounds which makes for a little difficult reading but by sticking with it eventually they all mix together very well.
Anna is tough, intelligent, and capable of handling any situation that may come her way including the usual lumps and bruises.
The author unfolds the plot along with characterizations very cleverly keeping the story interesting right up to the very end where ,unarmed,Anna comes face to face with a killer who has a gun and a very good reason to use it.
This , the fifth Anna Pigeon novel, might make you decide to read the sixth.
I thoroughly enjoy this series. You learn so much about different national parks.
