Paranormal young adult fiction by Jessica Shirvington, fourth in series. The exiled angel Lilith has been brought back from Hell, and she has big plans. She plans to kill Violet slowly, while Vi's mother Evelyn watches.

I have to say, at first I was a little bored with a few of the plot items in the story: unrequited young love, "I love you, but we can never be together." The other tedious plotline, is the suspicion, disdain of the Academy elders. These plots are annoyingly similar to the City of Glass series by Cassandra Clare (another series involving angels). Not to mention, that both heroines have Mommy Issues.

But, after awhile these things fall to the wayside. The complex relationship between Lincoln, Violet and Phoenix is compelling. Violet becomes a force of her won. The ultimate showdown with Lilith, is awesome. The price Violet has to pay to beat Lilith, unbelievable. What she does next, terrific! This book is my favorite in the series thusfar. I cannot wait for the next one.
