Socialists are uniting textile workers against their employers: a partnership of a Machiavellian and a "goody two-shoes." Management threatens to shutter the factory; the workers may burn it to the ground. Worker shoots "Machiavelli"; management calls in the troops. Where, or where, have I read this theme before? I'm sure that it was in a Russian story, but the grey matter slips out at night. It may also have been Zola, or Upton Sinclair, or Dos Passos, or even Winston Churchill (not Sir Winston). Hey, this happened in my home town in the 1920s and again in the late 1940s. Definitely a play worth reading.
