Another exciting entry in the New Jedi Order series. Allston provides an entertaining read as the story follows Luke and Mara Jade Skywalker as they make a shocking discovery that keeps the Yuuzhan Vong from utter domination. Naturally the enemy tracks them down, and it's another breath-taking battle...

Much improved from the previous in this series. Draws the fight from a galactic free-for-all with tons of characters to a focused, human drama. Very enjoyable read and worthy of a look, even if you don't care for the Vong storyline.

I enjoyed the Han/Leia storyline in this book, more than the Luke/Mara storyline part, which took me a while to get through. Maybe it was just me, but parts of the book seemed to get bogged down. A bit too much dependence on plot, and not enough on development and dynamics between characters. Perhaps I'm old-fashioned and just like a lot of character development in my stories, which is probably hard to do in serial-type stories like Star Wars.
