So today I logged in and had eight wishes granted but I didn't have enough credits at the moment to cover all of them so I had to turn some down. I still really want the books but I just don't have the credits and won't have them in time since I just mailed out books requested from me today (no DC). Is it okay to put them back on my Wish List? Does this look bad to have to turn them down?
Is it possible to put my wishlist on hold but still send out books FIFO? |

I really wish they would make it so you could put just your WL on hold. When I was getting ready to move cross country I ended up dontating most of my shelf because I didn't want books coming in but didn't want to delete all myWL books either. So I just put my account on hold and donated what was on my shelf. Yes you can re-WL the books. It's better to decline them then to let them time out. Time outs can cause your account to be suspended. But declinign them and reWLing is ok. I usually keep a stash of credits on hand for WL books. I put my account on hold when I get below my comfort level and then read WL books to post. |

ALL of the 125 or so books on our wish lists are ones that I or (mostly) my wife want very badly. If I had 8 show up on one day, or even one week, or even one month, we would be ecstatic. We would gladly buy 8 credits (about $30) to get them. If I can't get them quick enough on PBS my wife goes to Alibris and pays, with shipping, anywhere from $6-$20 per book. So $30 for 8 would be a bargain for me and would make my wife very happy. Last Edited on: 7/21/09 1:14 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

You can't hold your WL without holding your whole account (ie, no requests from your shelf either) but you can buy credits if you need to. I did that a lot when I first joined until I had a credit balance built up enough so I didn't have to worry. But yes, it is okay to re-wishlist them, just so you are aware, you will be at the back of the line. Cheryl |
