I have a book reader "slick" worked with Borders, it will no longer sync the books to the reader from my computer. Called tec support, was told to take it back for a refund! So, now I am trying to decide what to buy to replace it with. IF I buy say a Sony, is there a way to get the 6 books I just bought yesterday and downloaded to my Borders desktop app. onto a different reader? I am so po'd right now I could scream! TYIA
How long has it been not working?
I don't have much on my Boarders library and hadn't played with it for a while. But when I went in to check most of my books now have no cover and when I try to download them the Adobe Reader won't load them. I've re-installed the Adobe Digital Reader and it's still not working.
When I try downloading the ebook, the Kobo program says it's got an update. Now it says I have to "Upgrade" my library. Don't know what that means.
Maybe it's not your reader, but the web store that's flaky.
Edited to add...
Can you sideload on the "Slick"? If so and you've used your computer to download your books, they should still be on your computer. On Windows 7, mine are at...
c:\Users\[name of user]\My Documents\My Digital Editions
in epub format.
I use Calibre to load the Books on my Sony, and have gotten them on there with it.
But you might try to use Calibre (it's free) to see if it'll 'see' the Slick and see if you can load your books from there.
Or you may need a reboot. Does your manual tell you how to do one?

Thanks for the replies! They are not in my digital editions... don't know why. I don't know what sideload is..... I looked more online at reviews for my reader and most everyone that had the same one I did returned them! So yea I did too! LOL
