Hey all,

I wasn't sure where to put this since I see there is not an actual *Erotica* forum, though you would think there should be with everything being so heavily wishlisted. I was hoping someone(s) could give me a thumbs up or thumbs down on this author and her two S/M books, "Carrie's Story" and "Safe Word." Both are super-heavy WL, but I would like to hear from anyone who's actually READ them. Were they good? Or were they just some moron's take on a Gor lifestyle - "You will kneel on rice and give me your bank account and have unprotected sex with all the guys in my biker gang and wear your dog collar to the supermarket and call every male Master and every female sub and Y/you W/write I/in T/this A/annoying F/fashion T/that P/people W/who L/live O/on M/message B/boards W/write." If you get my point. I started to read "Nothing Natural" and abandoned it, nauseated, almost immediately. If the general consensus is CRAP, I'm taking it off my WL and freeing up space.

I look forward to your responses. Happy reading.

I havent read these specific bks but Weatherfield is an alias of historical writer Pam Rosenthal. She is a thoughtful serious writerso  I would assume that she treats the BDSM seriously.

hmm dunno so I'm curious now. If I read BDSM it has to be playful and consensual and actually I dont' care for the SM part..just the playful bondage and light domination. amazon has an erotical discussion group - dont' ask me how to find them..I found them by accident but think you can go through your account or something and find all the search things.

I like going to samhainpublishing.com for their books - the ebooks have great descriptions that are hilarious at times 'vehicular sex, shower sex, well just sex in every position imaginable' was one book's description! but I found out about some from that amazon discussion group/forum whatever it's called.

ETA hoo boy I'll have to skip these!I went to amazon.com and read the reader reviews for the 2nd book and several talked about pony girl training. what the hell's that?! um don't think I wanna know! and somethinga bout her signing up to be a slave. sounds way over my  head and definitely outta my comfort zone! but some of the reviews seem to reveal a lot about thebook..some mentioned the sensitivity and how well she was taken care of...

I read about pony training recently, sounded really stupid LOL. I just didn't get it. I won't be adding those to any of my lists!

I've read a BDSM book recently and in the book they had Pony Girls and Stallions. Basically these were people who volunteered to be kept in stables and availalbe for anyone's use.  They wore bridles and leather tails and such.  Or they could be put in there if being punished by their master.  Not my think either.

I like bondage and spanking and little discipline but I'm not into the humiliation aspects of it.

wow I wouldnt' mind a stable of stalliions to pick from! I was afrai it was like those 'donkey' things someone was talking about once where the women are um doing the donkey and vicey versey..ick for me. I dont mind a little light bondage and light spankey whankey but bridled in a stall is a bit much for my tastes.

You guys are hilarious! "Pony play" is often seen at big S/M conventions. It's more of a male submissive thing, where the male has "pony attire" (use your imagination) and will often give rides/parade around with his female domme on his back. There is a lot of practice and pride that goes into it - it can get quite expensive too! In terms of "there's something for everyone in this world", there really are people who have a dream/fetish of being an animal, and pony play seems to help with that!

Not my thing, but the Amazon Erotic romance group is

http://www.amazon.com/tag/erotic%20romance/forum/ref=cm_cd_dp_rt_tft_fp?_encoding=UTF8&cdForum=Fx8P393IHOGCLK

The erotica group is here (they have more knowledge of the hardcore stuff as opposed to 'light bondage' and might better answer your questions)

I have read both and they are excellent. This is modern day consensual bdsm. The young woman in the stories is educated and smart. She is drawn to the 'lifestyle' and finds that it satisfies a part of herself. The first book touches on pony play somewhat, but the second- Safe Word- goes much deeper into it with hard training and races.. No one in these stories is there against their will and the main character's viewpoint is mature. Both are on my keeper shelf.

thanks Rose! I still think it might be too much for me...I still can't get scenes from Ann Rice's Sleeping Beauty (1st book) outta my  head. Being consensual does make it better for me though I still think I might find it disturbing.
