Some years back Disney made a film, The Rocketeer. Set in Hollywood in the '30s, the bad guy was an extremely handsome, dashing actor. After reading this book I know who they based that bad guy on.
Great read for information on a Hollywood legend and all the exploits that came with it. Gives you a sense of the glamour that Hollywood had in the beginning of the movies.
