Eva wakes up from a car accident to discover her parents have allowed her brain patterns to be implanted into a chimp's. What could have been an intensely thought-provoking exploration of what it means to be human and animal rights unfortunately falls short as Dickinson glosses over intensely disturbing questions, such as Eva mating with chimps, to focus on the introduction of new skills into the chimp group.

A young girl wakes up from a coma and finds her memories have been implanted into a brain and body of a chimpanzee!
The novel raises all kinds of questions about what makes us who we are and what is our relationship with nature and the environment. Eva is a terrific book for adolescents. A winner of An American Library Association Best Book for Young Adults.
