I'm not usually a fan of books that are too dark, but I absolutely LOVED Eve Silver's "Dark Desires." I also enjoyed Dark Prince and His Dark Kiss. However, then I started reading "Seduced by a Stranger" and stopped reading less than a third of the way into the book. The graphic depictions of torture became to much for me. When the author depicted the supposed "Hero" as a prostitute-torturing and killing serial killer, that was over the line for me. There is no possible way to redeem a character who is a serial killer. This last book made me so sick to my stomach I nearly threw up. I like romance, not horror. I tolderated the horror in the other books because of the suspenseful wriiting and good story.
I've stopped reading anything of hers completely now. Is that it for her? A handful of decent gothic romances and then she goes over the edge into graphic horror? I don't understand the rave reviews Seduced by a Stanger has gotten. These must be horror fans, not romance fans becsause the horror seriously predominates.
Any thoughts on this one, ladies? |

I read her first book and never picked up another one. I just knew she wasn't going to be an author for me. |
