This is an excellent reference book on the Civil war.It gives you an idea of what is was like to live during the civil war. The book dicusses the clothing the people wore, prices of food, information about lives lost and how each side fought to keep their way of life. You find out what inventions came to be during the time. There is information about weapons, treatment of the wounded, what they carried with them in battle. There is so much information in the book I can't begin to touch on it. A must read for anyone interested in that time period.
