This books was previously released as "Gang Mom," and is a St. Martin's True Crime Classics edition. This is the story of Mary Louis Thompson, who had been dubbed "Gang Mom" by one of the local newspapers. She devoted her time to caring for gang members, so everyone seemed suprised when she ordered a hit on someone and got a local gang to do it.

A model mother? A notorious ringleader? A malicious murderess?

A local teen was shot in his sleep. His family and community were stunned. Mary, dubbed "Gang Mom" by a local paper for her campaign against gangs seemed to devote her life offering the care troubled teens needed. No one knew this housewife had masterminded a violent local gang and ordered the hit.

I thought this book was ok. It's disturbing that she crossed the line.
