is it ok to post an ex-library book, or should I put in in this forum? The book is in good condition, but I don't know how people feel about receiving an ex-library book, since it has stamps on the front page with the name of the library. Please advise me on the proper etiquette-I don't want to offend anyone by sending them a book they might consider unpostable. Thanks! |

According to the rules: Yes, decirculated library books may be swapped at PBS.
I tend to PM the requester, even if they don't have a RC, to see if they want it or not just to be polite, but it's not required. |

Library books are perfectly swappable as long as they meet the other posting guidelines, no PM required. I myself don't PM on postable books because that can set people up to expect the PM when it isn't required. If someone tries to say it isn't postable merely because it is an ex-lib book, point them to the Help Center or Live Help for clarification. |

I would accept and ex library book IF it only had a name stamped inside the covers. Unfortunately I havfe also gotten ex lilbrary books in a swap that had the name of the library stamped on the outside edges of the book. And if that is acceptable I did not like it. |

Since ex-library books are postable (with or without the stamp on the outside), you would need to put an RC on your account saying you don't want ex-library books. |
