If I get a request for a book and the book is ex-library, should I pm the requester and let them know or just assume that if they don't have a condition against it then they don't care? |

If your book meets PBS's postability requirements, you are fine. If they don't want an ex-library book they need to have an RC. Just send it on out. susan/vt |

I have recieved RC's about not wanting ex-library , but I have no problem with them. Very often they have a nice plastic book cover on them. |

I agree, as long as the ex-library books meet PBS posting standards, they should be treated like any other book when you post them. The burden is on the requestor to have an RC if they don't want ex-library books. |

I don't PM on postable books. Then you have to worry about who cancels and what if they don't respond? Do you mail the book or cancel and lose your place in the FIFO line? If you mail the book and then they respond saying they don't want it then you have to worry if they'll mark it RWP or even mark it received at all. |

Ex-library books are fine as long as they meet other PBS requirements (no broken spines, writing/highlighting, water damage, etc.). Unless the member has a requestor condtion you are fine to send. Some people like to send PMs when posting ex-library books, but it's entirely up to you. |

I post a lot of ex-library books, and I think the plastic over the dust covers is great, but I very seldom receive any. I don't PM the requestor though about ex-library books, and if someone has an RC about not wanting them I decline the request. Pat |
