The once feral cat we have now decided to keep has FIV...anyone have any cats w/ this?  Any insight?  Suggested Reading?  Websites?

I haven't had a cat for years since DH is allergic but no one else is going to take the poor mangy thing...so we are giving it a go.  He is so sweet!  Loves to be petted.  I just want to try to do what's right by him so he can live the healthiest life possible.  He hates not being able to go outside...but he will be an indoor only cat.  My heart can't take and in and out cat...plus he could spread his disease.  I'm also all about diet so he will be on a grain free diet...we are getting there slowly now.  He is currently eating Nature's Variety wet and Felinand (sp?) dry.  I do plan to go to a completely grain free soon....I think the formulas we are feeding now are not 100% grain free...but they are a good quality.

Thanks for any help!

There's an article that might help here, and it gives some other links as well: http://www.VeterinaryPartner.com/Content.plx?P=A&S=0&C=0&A=1313 Congrats on your new companion! I hope you have a wonderful time with him.
