Has anyone noticed that not all the available books are listed under the author list.  If I'm looking for a specific book or series, I usually type in a title by the author and then select the author name so I can see a list of all his/her books.  If a book is not listed in green, I assume that it is not available.  It turns out there is a computer glitch that doesn't always list all the books under a particular author.  If you type in angie fox in the book search, The Dangerous Book for Demon Slayers will come up as available.  If you click on her name, the book is not listed in green.  The book listed in red is a copy listed with no isbn.  So if you are looking for a book make sure that you look under posted books and not just under the author name.  Because the book mentioned above doesn't have an isbn, it won't refer you to other versions of the book.

First thing I check is that the names are entered correctly and alike.  The system does not see John X Smith as being the same as John X. Smith or John Smith.  Names must be exactly alike, down to the placing of the period.

This does occasionally happen.  I've submitted book edits in cases like this.  And, IIRC, the book edit team can't actually change which one shows up on the author list.  We can check that the names are all entered the same, which should trigger the system to link the books.  (Putting the green or red link on the book page.)

I had this happen to me too with an Erin McCarthy book...  and I got the same repsonse from the book edit team.  I guess some books just don't "link up" for some reason.  I thought it would take longer to get requested off my shelf because it didn't link to the author's name, but eventually it did.

If I'm looking for a particular book, I've also learned to do a search with the actual book name too, not just under the author... sometimes there are other copies available that just don't pop up.

The way I deal with this when a book is on my bookshelf is to add a tag to the book that is on the author's page.  Such as "Also under ISBN xxxx".  This seems to help the books move.  But it does not fix the search.
