A gorgeous football star...
A lonely Colorado highway...
A woman dressed up like a beaver.
Life’s funny that way.

On sale now in paperback!

Dear Readers,

I’m thrilled to announce that my New York Times bestseller, NATURAL BORN CHARMER, is now available in paperback!

Many of you will remember Chicago Stars quarterback Dean Robillard from MATCH ME IF YOU CAN. He’s a little older now, and the diamond ear studs are gone, but his take-no-prisoners attitude is pretty much the same. Still, the golden boy is starting to feel as though he might be losing his luster, and he’s looking for a little distraction. Let’s just say that he gets more than he’s counted on when he meets a young woman walking down the side of the road wearing...a beaver suit.

Here’s a Sneak Peak at NATURAL BORN CHARMER.

The three questions I hear most frequently from readers:

  • Why can’t you write faster? (Because it takes me forever to get to know my characters, and because writing a good book is hard!)
  • When is your next book coming out? (I’m in the final stages of finishing my next hardcover. Keep checking my website for an announcement of the title and for details about the story. A hint: "Think Hollywood.")
  • When is Glitter Baby going to be republished? (January 2009)

GLITTER BABY was my first contemporary novel, but it’s been long out of print, resulting in original copies going for outrageous prices at online auction sites. (I saw one for over $80.00!) Now here’s the best part... The paperback edition of NATURAL BORN CHARMER contains an excerpt from GLITTER BABY, so you can begin to see what all the fuss is about.

Some of you still haven’t received this link to the unpublished Epilogue of HEAVEN, TEXAS. Enjoy!

    Happy Reading,
    Susan Elizabeth Phillips

Here’s what the reviewers say about NATURAL BORN CHARMER:

"...steam rises from the pages." Richmond Times Dispatch

"Flawless writing with sassy wit and a rich cast of complex characters blend together brilliantly in Natural Born Charmer, a romantic sexy, literary confection...." Chicago Tribune

"Combine a bunch of misfits carrying emotional baggage with lots of humor, and you have another Phillips masterpiece. The dialogue, emotions and offbeat scenarios elevate this book to genuine reading joy. Phillips not only plucks at heartstrings, she plays a full concert." Jill M. Smith, Romantic Times

"...splendidly satisfying tale of love, family, and redemption. Generously seasoned with plenty of tart humor and snappy dialogue, and graced with a delightfully amusing pair of protagonists trying desperately not to fall in love. Natural Born Charmer is simply irresistible." Booklist

Read in hardback from the library -- it's so good.

I looked Glitter Baby up at Amazon and see no signs that it's either out or coming out...?

I got this from an email I received from the Author. From what she said they aren't re-releasing Glitter Baby just putting a teaser for it in Natural Born Charmer. I believe Glitter Baby is out of print.

I have a copy of Glitter Baby.  It's been sitting on my TBR for a couple of years.  I guess it's time to dust it off and see what all the fuss is about!

I must have missed it before, but I see above that Glitter Baby is supposed to come out next year.

From the original post and SEP's email newsletter:

"When is Glitter Baby going to be republished? (January 2009)"

That is why there's an excerpt in the newly released paperback version of NBC.

She actually revised Glitter Baby so it will be different (not sure how much) from the first edition. Which I did win on ebay, but for far less than $80, sorry, it isn't going anywhere though.

Her next new book will be out shortly after Glitter Baby is re-released. (I think she said she was shooting for Feb/March on her website.)
