I love Angela Hunt and she doesn't disappoint me this time.
Great heartwarming story about deceit, undercover and unconditional love.
Sarah has been hidden away because she was born without a face, her mom dies in childbirth, her dad dies as well some time later. With both parents dead she is taken by a doctor and kept hidden. Her aunt learns of her years later and sets out to find her. When she does she trys to teach Sarah
there is a world beyond what she knows...and meets resistance from the dr who took her.
Some twists and suspense. Very well written.

I've never been disappointed when reading Angela Hunt. There's just something about her books that sucks me in every single time. I love that she's a versatile author, not sticking to one genre, but really goes outside of the box....which translates to some great books. The Face was different from anything else I've ever read by her. The story has this "top-secret" feel to it because a lot of it deals with the CIA, and definitely has a flare of "if you don't need to know, you're not gonna know."

The storyline gets a little emotional at times as I couldn't help but feel sorry for Sarah and the experiences that she's missed out on. Sarah has been living in such a secluded place because of her deformity that she's only ever met about 10 people in her entire life, and she's never had the thrill of tasting a McDonald's hamburger. When her aunt Renee finally finds her and begins to offer a whole new life, it all sounds a little to good to be true.

On a completely different note....I'm accustomed to reading nothing but Christian fiction by Angela, and I was a little surprised to see that this book was published by a mainstream publisher. Because of that, The Face really has almost no Christian references, except the occasional mention of going to church. But it does have a very clean storyline with no profanity and no sex, which I am accustomed to seeing in mainstream fiction.

All in all, The Face is definitely a 5-Star read. It's got all the aspects I love in a contemporary novel--some suspense, some emotional tugging on my heart, and some real-life true information. Oh, and it's also got a great ending....one I didn't see coming at all. :o)

Like all of Angela Hunt's books this book is based upon fact. A baby born without a face sheltered away from the world. Can she break free of the confines and go into the world? This was a great book but not my favorite Hunt book. I would post it but it is an advanced reading copy--sorry fellow readers.

My first book from Angela Hunt that I read.

When I first opened it, I thought I wouldn't like it because of the style of writing, but as I kept going, I fell into the story and couldn't put it down and finished it in a few days. Very different than your normal Christian Fiction book but very very good.

Looking forward to more Angela Hunt novels--i've heard she bases most(if not all) of her books on true stories.

This is the first novel I've read by Angela Hunt, but I will certainly look for more. This book kept my interest right till the end; I couldn't put it down. The end was not entirely expected, so it was definitely not a "cookie cutter" book. One of the very few "five-star" books on my list!

I clicked to see if this was a book I would like when I realized I had read this one already, years ago. Once it all came back to me, I remember that I, too, liked this book. Hunt is great at combining plots...the girl with no face, along with the secret ops part of her life. It ends well, if not predictably, but that was fine with me!

This is an exceptonal book. It is filled with CIA intrigue, a real disorder that renders the face a mockery, & for those who have "eyes to see & ears to hear" some wonderful spiritual analogies plus some interesting moral issues. This is a book well-worth spending time with. So far, it's my favorite of all the Angela Hunt books I've read. I highly recommend it.

Well written. Intriguing. But unfortunately the ending was all too predictable.

Angela Hunt keeps you wanting to continue to read--throughout the book. And books includes a "real surprise" ending.
Excellent
