Wow,v dark, psychological novel. V uncoventional romance b/w real outlaws, they kill & robb for a living in TX ,post war. Lily took to heart her mother's advice: 'Survive'. After her near execution, Lily wants freedom from the gang by any means, including killing her husband. Murder didnot work out (not for lack of trying) & now her hands bound, Lily is being escorted back to her gang, to face her possible death. Lily meets Texas's half sister Josie, who she likes despite herslef for her sweetness, naivette, fairness.Presence of Josie & Lily's possible upcoming death force Lily to reevaluate her life, her principles, people in her life. Megan Chance shows slow Lily's transformation. In the end she is still hard-hearted,ruthless, but she is allowing herself to love people who love her.
Texas is much softer then Lily, patient & understanding.
V realistic, gripping bk, not typical romance

Lily lost her childhood the day the Sharpe gang murdered her parents and 'adopted' her. They brought her into their world, and taught her how to be ruthless and smart. Soon, Lily the Cat was wanted by the law. But, in an act of revenge she had planned for twelve years, Lily betrayed the outlaws. And then she deceived Texas Sharpe, reluctant heir to the notorious gang - the man who loved her, married her, and defied his father for her. But although he desired her like no other, she used him - and his love. And he was about to show Lily just how ruthless a man betrayed could be..
