Written well, sometimes entertaining, sometimes heartbreaking, this is the most insightful book about Viet Nam vets that I've read. I highly recommend it.

Excellent read. Reflections of a daughter who so much wanted her fathers affection but is not able to break through the shell he has built around himself. He is a returning vietnam vet (tunnel rat) suffering from PTSD, but not being treated. Her fathers string of women, many nights at the bar, and divorce all run though the story. She and her siblings (via her fathers other casual romps) try to deal with a dad who is emotionally absent while they are forces, for the most part, to raise themselves. Years later she takes a trip to vietnam looking for answers from the country that she feels took her father and her childhood from her.
